The all the Contents Files and
the Control Files
you need to typeset and/or modify
any part of RBA.
You can get it as
or, if you prefer, as
Please note:
- You can place the folder RBAv2-CompleteSource
anywhere you want on your computer but it is recommended that you keep
it as is because, that way, LaTeX will know where everything is. The Graphics Files are also
included.
- The .sty
files used for RBA
are not included in the complete package and
are to be downloaded as StyleSheets.zip
because they have to be
placed in a very specific location of the LaTeX installation, namely
Users
> Yourself > Library > texmf > latex
- For the sake of keeping sizes manageable, the complete package
does not include the pdf files since you
can either download them from RBA Text or typeset
them yourself from the Source
Files in the complete package after you have placed the .sty files as
indicated just above. While everything else is typeset at the click of
the Typeset button, in the case of the Text, you need to
proceed as follows:
- Typeset with the option LaTeX (This will
typeset the text itself but neither the Table
of Contents nor the Index and the
total number of pages will be 264.)
- Typeset with the option MakeIndex
(This is almost instantaneous as LaTeX just looks up the
items to be indexed.)
- Typeset with the option LaTeX (This will
now typeset the Text,
complete with the Table of Contents and the Index,
and the total number of pages will now be 272.)
The .sty files
used for RBA
are of three kinds:
- The standard
.sty files. These should come with the LaTeX
installation. All are readily downloadable from CTAN.
- pdfsync
(To synchronize source and output
- graphicx
(To include graphics.)
- makeidx
(To create the Index.)
- amsmath
(To typeset mathematics.)
- amsthm
(To format theorems, etc.)
- amssymb
(To type mathematical symbols.)
- color
(To manage color in general.)
- array
(To line up mathematical texts.)
- stmaryrd
(More
mathematical symbols; must be loaded AFTER amssymb.)
- enumerate
(To make lists.)
- booktabs
(To make tables.)
- showidx
(To place indexed terms in
the current margin.)
- colortbl
(To use in tables.)
- url
(To
use location
instead of actual file.)
- fancyvrb
- relsize
(To size text locally.)
- ifthen
- calc
(To calculate.)
- The less
common .sty files.
Some of these may
come with more complete LaTeX installations than
the one suggested here but they are included in StyleSheets.zip.
All are readily downloadable from CTAN.
- cancel
(To slash text.)
- datetime
(To format dates
and time)
- dcolumn
(To align
decimal numbers in tables.)
- fancybox
(To raise/lower
boxes)
- fink
(To link the control files
and the content files.)
- forloop
(For some of controle files to work.)
- multirow
(To use in
tables.)
- paralist
(To list paragraphs.)
- polynom
(To format division of
polynomials.)
- polynomial
(To enter polynomials with just their
coefficients.)
- prettyref

internal cross-references)
- probsoln
(To create multiple choices.)
- ulem

- The special
.sty files. These contain the modifications for the
functionalities specific to RBA
and are the only ones to be used in the Preamble of the Control Files.
They are included in StyleSheets.zip.
- RBAv2-0_PreambleV13
- RBAv2-0_Review-ExamsV9
As for the instructions for configuring
the Text, Homeworks, Reviews, Exams, etc, they are
to be found under ADJUSTMENT TO DOCUMENT, in red, at the top of the
corresponding Control
File. Occasionally, for finer adjustments, you
may be redirected to the Contents
Files themselves.
